Forest Therapy Institute Summit

Never have we needed nature so much to help keep us well, lift our spirits and nourish our souls. We are faced with unprecedented times, where grief and loss is all around us. We need to understand the healing power of the natural world and its potential to support individuals, families and communities during and after this crisis. However, this must be a reciprocal relationship. We also need to respect and cherish the natural world which we are part of. Beauty, compassion and meaning, three of the nature connection pathways developed by Lumber et al at the University of Derby are key in understanding how nature can support us in times of need. The concept of nature and post traumatic growth will also be discussed as crisis can also be an opportunity for deep reflection, enhanced awareness and much needed transformation.
